JOB DESCRIPTION
The Compliance Manager holds a crucial role within the Operations team at EIT Food. This key position is responsible for overseeing compliance with funders' rules, both internally and at the subgrantee level. The Compliance Manager ensures that all costs are eligible according to funders' regulations and that the compliance process is robust and properly implemented. Reporting to the Head of Grants and Funding, the Compliance Manager should take the initiative to improve current processes, be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement of EIT’s grant compliance management process.
- Prepare the methodological tools for the risk-related assessment of recipients of funding from EIT Food.
- Provide advice and assistance on matters relating to the EIT Food grants to different stakeholders including the areas within EIT Food.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of the different grant compliance processes, procedures, and current relevant grant compliance aspects, including where creating and improving manuals, guidelines, and templates to help with the process.
- Organise and provide training, guidance, and support to EIT Food participants and staff, and contribute to the development of their understanding of the applicable rules and principles.
- Collect and implement lessons learned to gain efficiency and enhance grant compliance across EIT Food areas.
- Take on additional tasks as required in the interest of the Operations team.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or equal experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years with demonstrated experience in grants management or Finance Business Partner
- Proven experience in EU Grants compliance or grant management ideally from a funder’s perspective
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Robust analytical skills particularly with large data sets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

CONTRACT TYPE
Full-time permanent position.
LOCATION & TRAVEL FREQUENCY
This role can be based in any of our six locations: Belgium, UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain or Poland. To be eligible, you must be based in one of these locations and have the legal right to work there. Within your chosen location, we offer flexible working arrangements, including remote and hybrid options, depending on local policies and requirements.
Occasional travel within Europe might be required.
